Academic results: proud of our students' success

  • News

St. George’s British International School celebrates achievements in IGCSE and A-Levels, reflecting academic excellence and international British education.

In the British education system, academic qualifications such as IGCSEs and A-Levels are renowned for their high level of rigour and demand. These internationally recognised assessments are administered by external examination boards that guarantee academic standards of excellence and objectivity. Each year, the official results of these tests are published in August, marking a key moment in the educational journey of students. This system not only validates their knowledge and skills, but also opens doors to prestigious universities around the world, consolidating the value and global recognition of British education.

Beyond the grades obtained, we are deeply proud to accompany and guide our students in finding their own path to success. Behind every student and every academic record there is effort, dedication, dreams and hopes, and as a school, it is a privilege to be part of this meaningful process. This journey of learning and personal development begins in Early Years, is strengthened in Primary and reaches its full potential in Secondary and Sixth Form, laying the foundations for each student to develop fully and face the challenges of the future with confidence.

This school year marks a very special milestone in the history of St. George's British International School, as we complete our transition to a full British school across all stages of education. For the first time, we have a Year 13 course and we proudly celebrate our first cohort of students who will sit their A-Levels, the final results of which we will know next summer. In the meantime, we commemorate our students' excellent achievements in the IGCSE, which reflect their effort, dedication and the commitment of our entire educational community to academic excellence.

Our second cohort of Year 11 students achieved outstanding results, with 54% of students receiving A*/A grades, 40% receiving A* grades, and an impressive 21% receiving A** grades, and an 86% pass rate, reinforcing the rigour and educational excellence of our curriculum and enabling them to successfully tackle the next stage at St. George’s and their A-Levels.

Unai, Year 12, about his IGCSE results: “I was really happy that I achieved five grade 9s (A**), I worked really hard to achieve them. I made lot of sacrifices like missing basketball matches in order to study, so it was a great feeling to see my results. Especially when I saw grade 9 in Maths and a grade 9-9 in double science. One of the hardest challenges was taking these exams in English, my second language, but going to St George's meant I had all the preparation I needed to achieve the best possible results”.
