IGCSE Examinations at St. George's British International School
In September 2021, we began a gradual process of transforming St. George's into a British International School, covering all stages of education up to the Baccalaureate. Currently, our students follow the Spanish education system from Year 11 (4º de la ESO) onwards, and the transition to the English National Curriculum is expected to be completed by 2025. This curriculum is structured in two key stages during secondary education: Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
During Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11), our students prepare for the IGCSE examinations, which take place at the end of Year 11. On average, most students take 9 subjects, made up of a combination of electives and core foundation subjects. Core subjects cover English, mathematics and science, while electives include modern languages, computing, design and technology, among others. During this stage, students also continue with the compulsory subjects of the Spanish education system.
Our teaching staff is made up of almost 50 highly qualified professionals, with teaching experience in various countries and proven international credentials, ideal for preparing students for the IGCSE examinations. The dedication and enthusiasm of our staff is evident at all stages of education. Beyond imparting knowledge, our teachers motivate students to develop their curiosity, proactivity, creativity and empathy, thus cultivating an enriching environment for the holistic growth of each individual.
