Total success of the 5th Globeducate British International Schools Spain Education Conference about resilience, with Pedro García Aguado.

The 5th Globeducate British International Schools in Spain Educational Talk was held with great success on Wednesday at the Afundación Auditorium in A Coruña, bringing together hundreds of attendees both in person and online. The event, organised by Coruña British International School as the host school, featured a keynote speech by Pedro García Aguado, who gave an inspiring talk on the importance of resilience in education.

The headmaster of Coruña British International School, Mr Dominic Abbott, welcomed the more than 200 people who joined the event, both in person and online, and was accompanied by two Year 10 students, María and Antón, who described their school as their second home and recited a mantra of the entire host school community: Never Give Up! ‘Three powerful words remind us how important it is to keep going, even when things get tough. No matter what the challenge, never giving up helps us to be stronger, more confident and more determined,’ they said.

During his speech, García Aguado shared with the audience an intimate and motivating journey through his personal and professional career, highlighting how the ability to adapt and recover in the face of adversity is an essential tool in the development of children and young people. Through real-life examples, he addressed key issues such as emotional regulation, sport as an educational driver, values education and the need to recognise and nurture the individuality and unique talents of each student.

The talk, which lasted approximately an hour and a half, could be followed free of charge online, allowing the message to reach a wider audience. As in previous editions, the places available to attend in person were sold out in a matter of days, reflecting the interest generated by this educational series among families, teachers and professionals in the sector.

The event featured simultaneous translation, making it accessible in both Spanish and English and reinforcing the international nature of the meeting. The conference is part of an annual cycle that takes place at the four Globeducate British schools in Spain. The venue for the next edition, the sixth, has already been confirmed: it will be held at the Cambridge House British International School in Rocafort (Valencia).

With a great reception and a clear message about the importance of cultivating resilience from childhood, the conference closed by consolidating its commitment to an education that goes beyond academic performance, focusing on training people to successfully face the challenges of the future.
