Our Year 6 Georgians at an event organised by Greenpower!
Our Year 6 Georgians from the Greenpower team had the opportunity to attend and show their car at an event organised by Greenpower Iberia at La Perrera (Maker Gunea). Important figures related to the project were invited to the event.
The work of our students has generated great interest in all those present, thanks to its unique and attractive design. The car, whose bodywork is made entirely from recycled cans, is a clear reflection of the team's dedication to sustainability. The Green Georgians were also able to give a brief demonstration of how it works, showing everyone their hard work.
The talk focused on showing the guests how the project works and how the races are organised. One of the fundamental values of the Project was emphasised: encourage young people's interest in professional fields related to engineering and technology. All this without forgetting the organisation's commitment to sustainability and the promotion of skills beyond the technical part, such as organisation, public speaking and competitiveness.
Robotics lab
During the break, our students' curiosity led them straight to the robotics lab. Here, they were able to see some of the robots being worked on at Maker Gunea. The Green Georgians enjoyed getting to know some of the details of these machines and did not hesitate to ask about them.
All the students finished the event excited to see how their work was recognized by everyone. One of them commented: “It was a lot of fun, everyone liked our car and the other one, the F24 one, was great. We were able to drive our car a little bit, although we would have liked to have been able to do it more”. He also says that they really liked the robotics lab and “all the ones that were there were very interesting”.
