A Winning Start for Our Greenpower Teams

  • Events

A brilliant debut at Greenpower: our students won five awards in their first race, demonstrating talent, teamwork and innovation in a real-world STEM challenge.

On 7th March, our Georgians from the Greenpower extracurricular activity took to the track for their first race of the season, and it was an incredible debut. Competing under the team names Greengeorgians and Bluegeorgians, our students achieved outstanding success, bringing home an impressive total of five awards across multiple categories.

The Greengeorgians team won the award for Best Bodywork, came 2nd overall, 2nd in the drag/slalom race, and 3rd in sprint. Meanwhile, the Bluegeorgians earned a fantastic 2nd place in the sprint category. Although the overall winners were the Porsche team from Lauaxeta Ikastola, our two teams achieved more awards than any other participating school. This is especially remarkable considering we competed with just two cars, while other schools entered up to four. In total, 13 cars took part, highlighting the efficiency, talent, and determination of our students.

Learning that goes beyond the classroom

Beyond the trophies, participation in Greenpower represents something much more powerful. This international STEM initiative challenges students to design, build, and race their own electric-powered cars, offering a truly hands-on and real-world learning experience.

Through this journey, our pupils develop essential skills for the future. They strengthen teamwork and communication, enhance critical thinking, cultivate creativity, and build resilience. They take on real challenges, learn from setbacks, and grow in confidence as they bring their ideas to life.

Preparing future innovators

This achievement reflects what makes our school unique: a strong commitment to experiential learning, innovation, and preparing students for the future. Initiatives like Greenpower empower our pupils to think independently, lead with confidence, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.

We are incredibly proud of our Georgians. Their success on the track is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing how their passion, talent, and determination continue to drive them forward.
